The Mazda 787B is a sports prototype racing car built by Mazda as an evolution of the initial Group C 787 car. This lineage was the last Wankel rotary-powered racing cars to compete in the World and Japanese championships using Mazda's Wankel rotary engine.
The car achieved a 1st place victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1991, although at the end of the season FIA outlawed the use of Wankel-type rotary engines, ending the short but successful 787B's Le Mans racing career.

The Mazda 787B appears in Race Driver: GRID as a Prototype class costing €7.800.000/$10,400,000 as new. It is one of the fastest cars, possibly second next to the Audi R10 TDI and has better acceleration and top speed than its rival the Nissan R390 GT1.
It has a top speed of 258 Mph which is 3 Mph under the R10's 261 Mph. It is also used by NOS SPORT and Ravenwest in Prototype events most likely in Japan and Global. Ravenwest also uses it in the head-to-head race after players beat the J-Speed Super One events in GRID World.
It can be equipped with a Jura Watamura, NOS Sport, Yamada Speed, Electric Race CO, Eclipse or Ravenwest livery.
